New Hotel Could Have Between 150 and 300 Rooms
Water will once again twist and turn down the slides of the shuttered CoCo Key water resort, after officials behind the Arlington Downs redevelopment decided to save the $25 million park. Officials from the Argent Group, the developers with plans to transform the former Sheraton hotel next to the racetrack along Euclid Avenue into luxury apartments and a new hotel, initially were not sure whether the long-shuttered water park would remain. But in plans released last week, developers elected to sever the water resort from the former hotel and attach it to a limited-service hotel, said Mark Matthew, a partner in the Argent Group.
