Council OKs New Milwaukee Marriott; Construction to Take Up to 2 Years
The Common Council has cleared the way for construction of downtown Milwaukee's first new full-service, nationally franchised hotel since 1988, voting Wednesday to approve plans for a $50 million Marriott hotel. By a 13-2 vote, the council approved the 200-room hotel, without a 15-foot setback condition that developer Jackson Street Management LLC had said would kill the project.
