Wynn Backs Gambling Resort at Miami Beach Convention Center
Las Vegas kingpin Steve Wynn had lunch at Joe's Stone Crab on November 9, then professed the Miami Beach Convention Center a fine place for a gambling resort. Wynn told NBC 6 that he was raised on Miami Beach and has strong feelings for the area.
When asked if the convention center should be knocked down, he said it should be expanded instead. Genting Group's plan to have 700,000 square feet of meeting space for its projects in downtown Miami has added to the competitive pressure on the convention center, which has 627,000 square feet of space.
